This month we will get an inside view to the creation of Tulsa’s new 100 acre park along the Arkansas River, A Gathering Place for Tulsa. We will hear how the individuals behind the project communicated the vision and planned for such a large project.

Jeff Stava, Executive Director and Trustee of Tulsa’s Gathering Place, LLC, will share the planning process and provide insight on what is the largest private gift to a public park in U.S. history. He will lead the group through the overall communications and how these efforts/strategies worked to further the mission of the park. Stava will discuss the storytelling aspect of a long-term public project, the mediums in which the park communicates, communications processes, unique park facts and a brief construction update.

A project of the George Kaiser Family Foundation, A Gathering Place for Tulsa, is funded by a mix of corporate and philanthropic Tulsa organizations. It is estimated that the park will attract one million visitors annually.
